A William III West Country silver Trefid Spoon, by Nicholas Browne, makers mark struck three times on stem, the terminal engraved with initials 'VF over WH'  and dated 1696, 8in (20.3cm) long, 1.64ozt.
Provenance: from The Charles C Brian Collection.  Mr Charles Brian was a born in Plymouth in 1916; he trained as a solicitor and joined his family law practice, C G Brian & Sons. He had a great love of Plymouth and Devon, and amassed a collection of Exeter and Plymouth silver. His particular interest was his collection of early West Country spoons.
